Leo Album
A singer-songwriter development project by Lucy Mills that supported her local album launch and performances across the Illawarra.
‘The project provided me time and space to truly focus on further developing myself as a singer-songwriter based in Wollongong. I played countless gigs at venues and events across the Illawarra and taken part in the Shellharbour international women's day morning tea to encourage and empower young women. I aim to make more music that connects with people in our community’.

Jam N Bread Films:
A documentary project by Sarah Hudson and Liz Tadic that uncovered the hidden musical talents of local musicians, specifically profiling the Upenik sisters.
Sarah Hudson together with Liz Tadic, after dipping their toes into the jam n bread music project, decided on documenting what they come to think of as the secret, beating heart and musical soul of the Illawarra.
Exploring the concept of “hidden maestros”, and getting to know the histories of local musicians, their connection to their own culture, the rhythms that sustain them and the common language they share. This film uncovers and documents the hidden musical talents of the Upenik sisters.
Jam n Bread - Celebrating New Gen Global Culture
Illawarra Potters:
A community sponsorship program designed to offer ceramics and pottery training to asylum seekers, new migrants, and marginalized community members.
Culture bank provided funding for a sponsorship position that would be offered to community members who don’t have the means to afford trying out the artform of ceramics.
‘’we aim to promote the sponsorship to other organisations that assist new migrants, asylum seekers and other marginalised communities. We feel this will be a great way for our sponsorship recipients to get to know the Illawarra community, and an opportunity for Illawarra pottery incorporated to help the broader community in a new way’’.
A Garden for Life:
A native food plant education, cookery, and traditional weaving workshop project coordinated by Narelle Happ to share stories about indigenous species.
‘A garden for life project’ provided an opportunity to educate community to learn to identify plants, cook and weave whilst appreciating the stories about local plant species.
Soft Spot / Sound Bath – Holy Pavlova:
An immersive sensory experience hosted by Holy Pavlova where audiences lay on yoga mats in candlelit rooms to absorb live instrumental audio vibrations.
This event was designed to facilitate an internal experience. Different from a live music show - where the audience is distracted by lights, crowd, conversation & alcohol.
Picture walking into a calm, open space, dimly lit by candle light. On the ground yoga mats spaced comfortably apart. After a brief welcome to country, an introduction of the event. You lay down and close your eyes. An instrumental band starts softly playing.
This is the start of a 45-minute performance that enabled experiences of exclusivity through auditory senses and sound vibrations felt through the body
